August 22, 2011,
Thanks for the great trip. You even made the women happy and comfortable (they do look happy in the photos!). They were very excited about rafting after the trip (quite a feat for two who were so apprehensive prior). Food was excellent and we enjoyed all the people working with you. We wish you best of luck in your endeavors.
See you soon.

Aug 08, 2011 - Achsa,
Thank you for our adventure this past Saturday! We had an absolute blast with Sierra White Water. Everyone was professional, friendly and, lunch was delicious!
Our river guide was Travis and he did such a great job. Very friendly! We felt safe with him and he managed to turn our raft to face the camera perfectly. We loved how the pictures turned out!
We will ask for Travis again next time!! Thanks so much! I think Sierra Whitewater won some customers for life. ?

July 27, 2011 - Hi Ascha, Luke, and Crew; My husband Jerry, my son-in-law Christian and my two grandsons, Adam and Ryan just finished a trip on the South Fork of the American with your team. I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you all for providing them with such a wonderful and memory-making experience. The picture they came home with said it all! The two boys had a blast and Ryan has decided that being a boatman is something he would love to do at some time in the future!!!
Thank you, Luke for doing such a fantastic job and for making their experience fun, exciting, and safe ( something we moms and grammy's appreciated!!) Jerry spoke highly of your skill and professionalism which coupled so nicely with your obvious joy at doing your job - all of which made their trip even more fun. They were one happy crew when they got home - full of stories of their adventure.
I just wanted to say a big "Thank you!" for your part in making our family's annual summer Cousin's Camp a big success and we hope to see you again in the future.
July 22, 2011 - Good morning! I just wanted to thank all of you again, for showing us an amazing time. From the personal and cordial booking to the actual trip down the river itself everything was perfect. Sam and I even enjoyed hanging out after to talk and laugh about our experience as well. He had such a great birthday! Nice extra touch with the chaco taco Trav haha
Hope to see you guys in the future. A big thanks to Achsa, Deric, Travis and Takota. You guys are awesome :) Sarah and Sam
April 27, 2011 - Great family atmosphere on our fall fun ride. EMBC property management out of Auburn did a corporate all girls run down the South Fork - Deric our guide was great...highly recommend it for fun, team building and adventure.

We can drone on all we want, but the true testament of any business is the feedback and enthusiasm of our clients.
Hey, what's up? I'm Travis and I have been working for Sierra Whitewater for two years now. I love to go out on the river, relax and just have a good time. In the off-season I am an an avid freestyle skier and soccer player. I grew up in Auburn and have been hanging out at the river my entire life. I am a student at University, Nevada Reno.
Hi, I'm Deric Rothe, owner of Sierra Whitewater and head guide - I love positive, adventurous people, the outdoors, river rafting, guiding and simply enjoying time on the river with friends and family. Our goal at Sierra Whitewater is to give guests a completely safe, fun-filled day on the river that they will never forget. We listen to what our clients want and do our best to accomodate and make you comfortable.
Hi there! My name is Achsa and I have been the Manager for Sierra Whitewater since its conception 5 years ago. I am a senior at UC Davis and spend my summers out on the river not only booking trips and handling all types of reservations -- but enjoying the river myself with my family and friends. It really is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one to be taken advantage of as soon as possible. It’s not every day something as amazing as the American River can be found in your backyard. See you on the river soon!
HEY! My name is Paige and I have worked with Sierra Whitewater for a number of seasons now, all of which have been fantastic. I became involved in whitewater rafting and kayaking when I was quite young and immediately fell in love, it’s an amazing sport that definitely has something for everyone to enjoy!
I am swiftwater rescue certified as well as CPR and First Aid certified, though these are just precautions. I love spending time rafting the beautiful American River and hope to see you in my raft soon!
Hey! My name is Austin and this will be my third season working with Sierra Whitewater. After graduating from UC Santa Cruz I went through guide school and got hooked on rafting. I am trained in First Aid, CPR, and have completed swiftwater rescue training. I hope to continue my education and get my MBA, but right now I am enjoying my time spreading the fun and thrills of whitewater rafting in the summer and spending winters working and snowboarding in Tahoe.
Hey there I'm Luke and you want to ride with me! As a youth growing up in Auburn, I naturally would spend every waking moment at the American River in the Summer months. Not much has changed! At 16, to become a raft guide, I earned my lifeguard certification with courses in CPR/AED and First Aid. Since then have extended my knowledge of the river by taking guide school and swiftwater rescue training. I am currently a second-year college student in San Luis Obispo working toward a degree in International Business. My educational goal is to study abroad in New Zealand, and, while I am there, to conquer their notorious rivers as well! I love rafting and I'll be out there whether you are or not so come have some fun!
Could this be you? Want to attend guide school, go out on some training runs, take first aid, CPR and swiftwater rescue? Maybe you, too, have the people, river and safety skills necessary to become a river guide.
Call 916-952-7816 and ask for Deric for more information.
If you want a gentle ride and to focus on the scenary, or to nail and surf all the biggest holes, it's your trip and we just insist that we keep safety, respect for the river and fun in mind. I have taught skiing during the winter for years and like to play foosball and have a beer at the River Shack after a fun-filled trip down the South Fork. But it's not all about me, I am interested in hearing your stories and your ideas on what makes a great day on the river. Ask for me by name and I'll either take you down personally or make sure you get the guide best suited for your rafting group.
